FAQS about classes
Supplies - do I need to order the exact same products that you suggest?
It helps to have the same materials, but I can’t make you buy them. For example, I’d like you to avoid student grade paint, as I find it frustrating. There are a lot of fillers and you have to use more paint than necessary. But it’s up to you.
Do I need to be an experienced painter?
Unless it is stated as a beginner’s workshop, having some exposure to painting is helpful. Having some experience with drawing is also helpful. But it’s not mandatory. No matter what, the more you practice, the easier it will be (like just about everything else in life).
How do I watch the classes?
We’ll be using Zoom. You will need to register first, which is easy. Go to their webpage: https://zoom.us/.
To download and install the Zoom Application:
Go to https://zoom.us/download and from the Download Center, click on the Download button under “Zoom Client For Meetings”.
This application will automatically download when you start your first Zoom Meeting.
Once the download is complete, proceed with installing the Zoom application onto your computer.
You need a computer with a camera, or you can use an iPad or other type of table (smart phones are not great with Zoom….the screen is too small for learning well).

Can I just watch later?
The class will be available for 30 days after I teach it, so you can watch it later, if you want. I will send a Zoom link for each every class. You’ll miss the chance to ask questions in real time, even if it is as a chat, but it’s really up to you. If you are taking the class from a different time zone, you can watch later, if that suits you.
Can I share the videos and lessons with others?
NO. My content is not free, and you (and only you) can watch and learn from it. Please think about the time and energy I put into making this workshop/class for you. My material is also protected under my professional copyright.
Where will I post my homework?
You will post your homework to a private Facebook page. You will need a Facebook account in order to post your work.
https://www.facebook.com/help/188157731232424?helpref=topq .
Everyone who registers for my classes will receive an invitation to join the Facebook group. Accept the invitation. This will be the place that you post your homework and meet participants. The group is private: none of your work or comments will be seen by those outside of the group.
Do I have to complete the assignments?
That is up to you, but you can’t learn to paint if you don’t practice! I will comment on assignments between sessions, but if you post your images outside the window of the class (ie, the week between session 2 and 3), I won’t be commenting on older work. I comment on work that is made within the time frame of the assignment.
