2 Day workshop-4 spaces left

York Art Association, York, ME

Let’s paint what’s blooming in season! Amy Brnger will teach an introductory flower painting workshop using flowers from our southern Maine gardens. Participants will bring their own local blooms and favorite vase (if you don’t have a garden, we will also have flowers for you). Amy will also bring her garden flowers and vase and we will arrange blooms together and then get painting!

This workshop will highlight:

  • How to arrange blooms for maximal oil painting pleasure (we will put together blooms in the morning)

  • Finding major forms in nature

  • Creating vivid color using a limited palette

  • Expanding stroke direction and energy

  • Composition and pictorial structure + Artist Talk July 20 and show of recent work through the month of July
